Demon’s Train Trip the RAT Run – Saturday 16th July

Saturday started well enough, 111 and I caught the train at Baldwin Ave and we picked up others on the way – Loose Change Dio and Bwana for three – and eventually caught up Hacker and Gawd Knows at Swanson. Xerox was up from Rotorua with Tnuc (who’s visiting from Newcastle) and they were staying with The Worm and Bird Table, so we ended up with pretty good numbers – I think we had 17 on the train. Dio had a senior moment at Swanson and discovered he couldn’t tag off on the train using the open-door buttons…… The RSAs Swanson, Henderson and Glen Eden and then to New Lynn where we had lunch at the mall before going to the RSA where we caught up with Captain. Dodgy is the Club President and ran a circle for us. It was here that we caught up with Mighty Mick who is back in Auckland from Orewa. I haven’t seen Mick for years – it is suffice to say that if one’s girth is a measure of happiness then Mick’s had a happy life. It was good to catch up and it would be great to have him back in the pack. China got talked into buying a subscription to the RSA by Dodgy then discovered that the Hash had put on free beer at New Lynn. I wonder why he’s called Dodgy…? We lost a few at New Lynn including Piss on You and it was then on to Avondale where we caught up with Fe Fi. That was the end of the line for Dio and Triple One and I hopped off at Baldwin while the balance went on to Parnell. All in all it was a great day. Thanks Demon for your organization, it looks like this could be annual event
